Abstract

Introduction. The monitoring of geosynchronous satellites (GSS) in Ukraine: opportunities, problems.
Purpose. Show ways to solve the problem of monitoring GSS using their optical observations.
Methods. An extensive analysis of the results of positional and photometric observations of the GSS makes it possible to study their behavior in orbit. An original analysis method is proposed.
Results. The maneuvers of two Russian GSS, “Luch-Olymp-K1” and “Electro-L1” in 2016-2017, were studied: their movements to new points of standing and their working state in orbit were described.
Conclusion. The absence of radiocontrol of the GSS in Ukraine can be compensated by optical means

Keywords: geosynchronous satellites, photometry, position observations, geostationary orbit
